About Me

My photo
I'm not a graceful person. I'm not a Sunday morning or a Friday sunset. I am a Tuesday 2AM, I am gunshots muffled by a few city blocks, I am a broken window during February. My bones crack on a nightly basis. I fall from elegance with a dull thud, and I apologize for my awkward sadness. I sometimes believe that I don't belong around people, that I belong to all the leap days that didn't happen. The way light and darkness mix under my skin has become a storm. You don't see the lightning, but you hear the echoes.

The Emperor's New Clothes: My Benetint eXperience

I got this for P1,700.00 pesos.

That time I was already getting a little frustrated to find some blushies I'd be compatible with, and be loyal, too (eventually)

My online search led me to several reviews including some confessions from local actresses.  Was I gullible or what?  :)

Now let's get down to business.  Points 1 and 2 are no-brainers! :)

1)  Cost me a whopping P1,700.00 (at that time, may be 4 years back or less).  Definitely expensive for a cheek tint that wouldn't color.  Damn!
2)  It's liquid.  I assumed the manufacturer, Benefit Cosmetics LLC, would have given ample attention to consistency because it's a liquid blush-on and its "water-like" characteristic could limit its coverage.  Indeed!
No stick, no oil.  No color.   Or may be for a minute, but would fade in the slightest provocation.  I still would say that "there was no fading because there was no coloring at all".  Damn!

No color for a cheek tint so uhmmm why the hell did I buy that for. :)

2)  Packaging to me is usually secondary.  Product performance is key!  But I'm really  trying with great effort to find some glory is this gory product so may be just may be there's hope in that  nail polish bottle in that little red box :) .

Bench'  prettywhenpinched  has a similar packaging but must say better consistency and coverage!  My daughter's using one (Red) now (and swears she like it more than Benetint which she used to borrow from Mom before I bought her, her own piece.  I promise a separate airtime for Benchies' Blushies' so you folks can compare.

I know I am careless so i really exerted effort to avoid accidental spills and breakage arrgghh.  I kinda succeeded on this part.  My Benetint bottle and box still intact.

3)  In the beginning, I kinda struggled with the applicator.  I'm not used to nail polish brushes to color my cheeks.  I usually make 2 lines to dab on.  The minute i brushed it on my cheek bones, the lines used to look very prominent, I was afraid it would really dry up that way --- and me ending up like an Indian with a war-painted face LMAO.  I must admit that it brought some brief panic attacks each time I had to put this blush on during those times.  LOL.

I adjusted alright. It didn't color anyway. haha

4)  And scent ... oh well, I just hope it worked like a "facial perfume" or something ... whatever.  It may not show but at least my cheeks smell delicious :)

Nah, Benetint does not smell good.  Does not look good.

Smashin' my gavel on this one :) --- Benetint is a NOT wise buy at all.  This will not give you your money's worth.  Sobrang harang talaga.

But if you want to be "in" or "name drop it" lyke Heart Evangelista also swear love to this product  (and I hope she was sincere when she made that statement :) ).    Or only because it's "stateside" ---  Then go wear it like the Emperor's new clothes ;-)
