About Me

My photo
I'm not a graceful person. I'm not a Sunday morning or a Friday sunset. I am a Tuesday 2AM, I am gunshots muffled by a few city blocks, I am a broken window during February. My bones crack on a nightly basis. I fall from elegance with a dull thud, and I apologize for my awkward sadness. I sometimes believe that I don't belong around people, that I belong to all the leap days that didn't happen. The way light and darkness mix under my skin has become a storm. You don't see the lightning, but you hear the echoes.

Thought Balloons of an Adult ADHD

One whole day of imprisonment. Innovation Revolution @ Topaz, Gateway Suites ;). A rush in my head. A barrage of thoughts. My expensive Claire Fontaine notebook from Fully Booked which I bought shortly before Christmas last year. Part of my segregation tactic, for the reason not to be in the company of my company hayyyyyy Darn, I wanted to go to Gourdos also that time but daming zombies, paskong-pasko eh hayyyyyyyyyy

So there after 16 leaves, I got 2 more for today's scribbles and doodles. Here’s a laundry list of those random thoughts

On my first cup of coffee:
On Love: It can’t be taught, it can’t be learned. It can’t be imposed, thus it’s useless to beg.

(I think ama wanna post this in Blendah tonight.)

Leo Burnetts hummmmm …. The more ideas the better. The better to get to the great idea. But a great idea dies with a bad execution. So execute with perfection!

My take to that Leo Burnett’s: A bad idea is a bad one period. No amount of execution can convert that to a good one. Hahahahah, me bitch-playing with words again. Quirky, sez MyPiayaya and Boklay.

Ad gurus say, “Be entertaining, be very sexy, or be very useful. Otherwise be ignored.”

Ergo, you, yes, you, am talking to you: You must find all these entertaining. You find me sexy. ;) You need me. That’s why you can’t ignored me.

And geography on that part of Asia where my stay was close to "all expense paid". 2005. Thanks to Dimaano-san ;). Yuburi Fusai; Yubari, the Japanese coal city that lost 90 per cent of its residents after its mines closed and the city councilors went on a disastrous spending spree. NO MONEY BUT LOVE! (please don’t take this out of context.) There may be limited info on Yuburi Fusai in the internet, I dunno why. But the hidden truth in this mantra, LOVE MATTERS/CREATE A SOLUTION. I hope Ms Margaux will agree with me this time. She gave me two As for recitation this afternoon anyway. I gave my free Big Mac to Ca, and brought home the other one to Soph.

INSIGHT. Not just a matter of factly. Not an ACB (Accepted Consumer Behavior). Why a hidden truth can change the way you see things. I wanna write about this lengthily next time.

1) Why it shouldn’t hurt.
2) It’s just a broken heart. It couldn't kill me.
3) Acceptance is liberating.

On my second cup:

The good thing about a purely adult audience, in a so-called corporate setting, the intellectualization of verbatim ;), radicalization of change arrrgggghhhhhh

This safe sex ad from France … Luna Park lingering …
Vivez assez longtemps pour touve ;)

Credits: OST by The Vibrators, “Baby, Baby”

...and the hard sell, don't watch when the lights are off ... this has made "Panda" an official halloween get-up ...

On my third brew:
I was psychologically incapacitated to sit still and pay attention, and was flipping my pen up and down while struggling to put down into words a new enumeration of To Dos for the next couple of months. Arranged in no particular order. But only as they enter my bored hyperactive thalamus. I may not be serious about this list. But you are required to take this seriously: ;)

1) run
2) ignore, ignore, ignore, ignore, and many more ignores
3) fast-track friendster
4) jobstreet and MyPiayaya
5) tamer
6) quit, quit, quit, quit, and many more quits
7) let go of Sophie
8) passport for Disney ;)
9) hair cuttttttt

When love dies hungry

Yung parang gutom na gutom
So hungry that you can eat a horse
but all you can find is a bed
yung gutom mo itulog mo na lang
one morning, you wake up
with a generous serving of all your favorite food on the table
yung posibleng kain na parang bibitayin ka
pero wala na
nalipasan ka ng gutom.

Last week was lazy. This week I was lazier :). And this morning I got mean. I tried to put if off by getting my usual power nap. I woke up so ready and recharged. Hear this, hear all!

Just this morning I was chatting with MyFF, and Wednesday night on SMS with ... I can’t tell this time sowiiiii, and whew, it really breaks my heart to hear all the horrific sob stories from old office. All the embarrassing booboos and flaks they get from DTI and BETP not to mention their roster of diminishing clienteles. It feels like CITEM is a hopeless case. A dead end. Sad that the people at the helm are too preoccupied with their self-vested interests. And the ugly, dirty fights they get themselves into they have neither remorse nor shame at all as they flaunt, without hesitation, all the dirty linens before the very eyes of their staff, DTI family, clients, event attendees, Malacañang people. Shameless!

This all started from Botox Queen who as I always say treated CITEM like her handbag. Only a poor leadership can be infiltrated by clowns, so there it made easy for a corrupt Arroyo to make a once useful CITEM a Dumpster for jesters :(. Not even a pedigree education can stop.

Pedigree I always have a proven anti-thesis to that. I am not impressed easily. A thoroughbred is definitely more than a piece of paper from New York City. Awwww c’mon. Manila Shame International is my peg!

The bible-quoting prayerful … I have always been suspicious of these characters that lurk inside their very organized pretentious offices. Here’s my take: One, justice should be served on the credit card scam, along with all the people who consented to that. Two, if this self-righteous whatever, will really decide to do what is right this time, then self-righteous will have to step down instead of “shamelessly” cling into a power she does not deserve, and could not use for the good of the agency and it speople which has been her home and family even before it was my home and family.

The lack of shame. The absence of decency. Incompetence. The latter alone is enough reason for me to tender an irrevocable resignation. Bu then that's me. I am known for my pride and principle.

CITEM will always be in my prayers. And my prayer is for God to take all of them away at all cost, by all means. I don’t fucking care, how and where! For as long as they get replaced. Now na, ASAP. And next in my prayer list, a new, better leadership to pull my old office out of all the shame, and the pains they put it through, and regain its position as the country’s first and the only TPO in the running.

So there this afternoon just before my powerful catnap, I posted this on my FB wall:
Hey CITEM friends, be careful what you say in FB against an awfully pathetic management, someone from your friends list will print that and give it to the gods. Cover your asses there's a kiss ass in your list!

(and speaking of the kiss ass … don’t sweat, kiss ass nga lang eh, that’s all they can do, that’s all they’re worth. Period.)

Hey it’s my sweet Sunday, I’m watching movies tonight. I summon all mypiXie friends :) … my witches brew … to flush out all negative thoughts left-overs from that pre-afternoon nap chit chat ;). And yes, I am claiming the answers to my above prayers. Zero, Zip, Zilch, Nada. ;) Tatah!

So here, a good dosage of Positive :):

1. I found a Center for Sophie. And her first week went good. A little extended time for Math. Another try why not :). Her tutors on Facebook, too :). Time has changed. Online education :)

2. My blueberry’s here!!!!!!!!!! Too long the wait. too eggcited EMD. :) too high my learning curve. It got me all pre-occupied this weekend updating my contacts from my old Nokia phonebooks. And yes, thank you to Jec Z. of ISG (whose sisters were my schoolmates from Jackson high) , my lone kababayan from ‘Gapo … sobrang salamat for installing my Blackberry software on my office desktop :). Bagay all my capdase screen guard and yeah yeah PURPLE jelly case … and of course my wrist strap ;) woot woot

3. I have a new Donella, too. It’s navy blue and I love the material.

4. A new Nine West, too. Dark blue. And smaller. I dunno, I been cravin’ for smaller bags lately. I lost :( a bid online just recently with denim and pink. I got this instead. :). Thank God for tat new boutique shop beside McDo Dasma Bayan for all the imported stuff. Sophie and I are now regulars ehehe.

Here's a shot of my new Nine West bag sitting like a queen on my red swivel computer chair ........ funkeiiiiiiiiiii

5.

O diba, if you have a fish plate like this, all fish dishes will look good keber na Salinas smoked fish lang yan, stockfish, dried fish, long-chowed anchovy … they will all looked “pogi”. Soph and I got this bargain plate form e-Mart last Sunday for less than 200 bucks. A good buy ei.

6. ... the drama of the silent poetry

Sol Halabi's Gustav's Dream at artodyssey and Andres Barrioquinto's Cystal Gazer at Manila Art.

7. Oooppps … someone’s been trying very very hard early this week. Wednesday while ACE was having their meeting. I told Boklay, lugi kami, kasi yung mga kalaban na trolls techy. One they know how to use google’s web cache. Long before that, my journal’s pages have been saved on someone’s desktop, most likely at home, in the bedroom harharhar, file:///C::/Users/Owner/Desktop/irma.the gypsy life April 2010.mht … so on and so forth

8. “I love being Taurus. I am always Taurus. I play the bull part very well. Watch out … My horns pointed at you. ;) ... hush hush” … the Bull Fairy ;)

Someone’s Ophiuchus. The serpent bearer. La vida loca in the snake's pit. That explains the love for the company of snakes. “(Jusz) Married “ to a snake. Spittin’ venom on a fairy’s face

A staircase somewhere in New York City from a fashion blogger. Red, white and all the words :). I think ama wanna build a "stairway" lyke tiz and send it to BFRV hahahaha

Old photographs ...

A gallery of my favorite shoots taken by myself, family, friends, and old loves :). I enjoyed doing this because each picture comes with a lovely narration of stories. See how fast time flies. And leaves us with beautiful memories.

More to come. Cheers to life!

Always a fave picture of Baby Sophie, almost 5 months old. Same pic that was published in Baby Magazine, same pic pasted on our ref, same one you will see in my wallet and Lola Miles', too. It was a lazy afternoon, me and baby, had nothing to do but bum around the bedroom, 2/F in a townhouse somewhere in Moonwalk, Las Piñas. Still very tiny and soft and ohhh sooo cuddly, I tried to use the pillows to support her while she tried to pull away with that "carry me please, mommy" look while mommy struggles with the camera.

Bonding moments @ the shower. Closing to terrible two. Sophie looked so innocent, paying attention to what Mommy was telling her ... I bet, I was trying to "make her bola" so she wouldn't have to cry as I tried to wash her face with water. This is such a lovely picture of us ... those days when I used to color my finger nails :) ... those days when I can still bathe her or even take the shower together.

Daddy's girl. I posted in FB under Sophia Clarisse and everyone agreed, JM ikaw ba yan? :)

Ronnie holding hands with Sophie. On her 3rd birthday celeb @ Jollibee. Si Rons always present na yan since 1st birthday ni Sophie, Storyland days pa.

I call this, MESSY CUTE. Me shooting my niece Stephanie. MOA kembot with her mom, my cousz, Rors', second homecoming from Dubai. I miss na Steph. :(

Fairy boy, Joshua Niguel. His mothers eyes. My best dude's first born. Missing the boys from New York City.

Lambingan moments ni bunso at ni panganay. Missing my motorcycle rides with my baby cousz Jon Mark. Akalain mo yan, our exes are first cousins.. OMG. Small world.

Almost 30. Those years of beautiful friendship. DOGNUTS.

Kami lagi ang taga tumba ng isang kaha ... hahahah ... walang patawad kahit Holy week ... keber na dalawa lang kami after ma-indian na naman ni Nanat ... tuloy kung tuloy ... me and Pareng Pong Pagong ;). Our run away statement those days, these days. "Hibernation. Ayusin ko lang buhay ko."

Sister Ghie. Isa sa pinakamabait kong kaibigan. So beautiful inside and out. High school days, I remember super talented dancer and volleyball player. Happy that she nows stay in Manila.

In love with ol' ITSED. My friend Jen during our (1st stop) dinner at Gerry's Grill MOA. Lovely with her purple bayong bag curt'sy of "Cesar Ladder :), previously from CITEM's Publicity Group", over-looking my peach cocktails. Me ... I was the one taking the picture.

My kiddos trying our very best to have a good time monkeying around tat lonely hallway. The night e-Services died. :(

Always a fave pic of B to the 3rd power ;) ... si Betong, melancholic. si Baby, hesitating ... (as always), at si Bok (happy with her power smile!).

Billboard porn with Nettchii. A few days after ESP 2008, we decided to all come to the office in white tops (everyone was glad kasi sumunod ako sa dress code hahah) for a so-called photo shoot. We were so happyyyyyyyyyy. This pic of Nettchii and me brought the house down. The now famous lesbianism act.

The devilish grin. My reluctant smile. Kami ni Honey ko.

Same shades. Same skies. I was blushing. She was using her eyes. ;). My last Christmas @ CITEM. She counted 2 more. We still hangout @ Treats Bluewave where beer lyte is cheaper and Subway comes in handy.

Yangers and Jie and our blue margarita during the Peñafrancia Festival in Naga City. My first Air Philippines hehehe. My adorable cabin. My pink hanes. Mwah! from Twin Frost.

Yoh and ... hush hush

40 freshies ;). Grand Alumni 2011 here we come!

Monsalud girls. Mom's my best bud in grade school. A beautiful, intelligent woman. Heidi B.

Mykee and Kuya, from Mykee ;). Cuteeeee

Magbayaw na hilaw. Taken in Davao curtsy of MyPiayaya.

Ang pinakamasarap na shot ng baby ko. Kuha ng pinakamagaling na photographer sa balat ng lupa. MORAL LESSON: Hwag higa ng higa kung saan saan, lalo na kung pababa ng hagdan si Boklay! Hahahah salamat Bok!

Marked!

Use Somebody

i can't blame people for fallbacks
you surely would not put all your eggs in one basket
or even trade all your cards with all the aces
without the safety net
human nature is calculating, shrewd, selfish
nobody loves a loser
you don't get replaced
but you should always have a ready replacement
you don't leave an old lover
over someone you can't even put your fingers on.

i had plans in my head even 5 years back
i contracted all my closest friends
on what to do next, the day before and the night after
i screamed, down the bottles!
fuck the weed!
i wish to wake up 2015
just the ripe age after "life begins".

here's what happened instead ...
i went straight home
slept just a little late
woke up early
spent the entire day with my two surgeons
gone shopping into two different places
prettified my house.

A day after ...
i knew exactly
so now, here ..
like you
I never did
give up
my fallback.

I do like you do
Everybody needs one.

I am Brida now.

Choosing a path meant having to miss out on others. She had a whole life to live, and she was always thinking that, in the future, she might regret the choices she made now.

“I’m afraid of committing myself,” she thought to herself.

She wanted to follow all possible paths and so ended up following none. After her first romantic disappointment, she had never again given herself entirely. She feared pain, loss, and separation.

These things were inevitable on the path to love, and the only way of avoiding them was by deciding not to take that path at all.

In order not to suffer, you had to renounce love. It was like putting out your own eyes not to see the bad things in life.

Ever since time began, people have recognized their true Love by the light in their eyes.

“When you find your path, you must not be afraid. You need to have sufficient courage to make mistakes. Disappointment, defeat, and despair are the tools God uses to show us the way.”

“Don’t bother trying to explain your emotions. Live everything as intensely as you can and keep whatever you felt as a gift from God. The best way to destroy the bridge between the visible and invisible is by trying to explain your emotions.”

“But how will I know who my Soulmate is?” Brida felt that this was one of the most important questions she had ever asked in her life.

“By taking risks” she said to Brida. ‘ By risking failure, disappointment, disillusion, but never ceasing in your search for Love. As long as you keep looking, you will triumph in the end.”

Nothing is completely wrong. Even a broken watch is right twice a day.

BRIDA* is the real story of a young girl learning to follow the Tradition of the Moon

... when a brick goes missing

Paulo Coelho's Missing Brick

Once, when I and my wife were traveling, I received a fax from my secretary.

‘When they delivered the material, there was one glass brick missing for the work on the kitchen renovation,’ she said.
‘I’m sending you the original plan as well as the plan the builder has come up with to compensate for it.’

On the one hand was the design my wife had made: harmonious lines of bricks with an opening for ventilation.
On the other hand was the plan drawn up to resolve the problem of the missing brick: a real jigsaw puzzle in which the glass squares were arranged in a higgledy-piggledy fashion that defied aesthetics.

‘Just buy another brick,’ wrote my wife. And so they did and thus stuck to the original design.

That afternoon, I thought for a long time about what had happened; how often, for the lack of one brick, we completely distort the original plan of our lives.

Irma Vanta's another brick in the wall, a permanent hole in her heart

It's a double-edged sword to me. Either another layer revet on the wall, sideways, upways, bigger, bolder, stronger. Like a Greek Parthenon, a fortress standing proud. Berlin's Wall, a barrier that has long broken down, judged by history, its memory leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Or jusz a precious amount of red clay, hoping to mold something out of it one day. That one brick could have changed it all, and for the lost of it, suddenly we are never the same again. And lives, though not necessarily distorted, are completely altered.
